What does “That Makes Two of Us” mean?
Picture this: You’re having a rough day. Super tired, worried, or upset. You tell a friend how you’re feeling and they say “well, that makes two of us.” Now WAIT! Right there! Even though your friend didn’t solve your problem/fix your bad day, simply them saying that they are feeling a similar way might make you feel a smidge better. And that is the feeling that we are trying to capture in this event. Not only can we come together over shared problems and insecurities, but also through our ideas.

How can I participate?
You’re in luck: applications for speakers and team members are now open! By clicking the “Participate” tab in the Main Menu, you can either fill out an application to become a speaker or part of the TEDxDanielHandHS Team. If neither of those options sound appealing (totally understandable), you can contact us using the “Contact Us” form at the bottom of the screen or send an email to tedxdanielhand@gmail.com to discover more ways that you can help support the event!
03
Can I come see the event?
Of course, we believe in “bigger is better” for audience sizes, but unfortunately we are only allowed 200 guests in the audience during the night of the event (TED’s rules). But do not fret! Thanks to our incredible tech team, every talk featured at the event will be recorded on high-quality cameras and posted on the TEDx YouTube Channel following the big day so that everyone can experience the brilliant ideas of our speakers and team. The event will also feature live broadcasting, perfect for the ultimate home-viewing TEDx marathon!

Who is running this event?
So we’ve covered all the fabulous details about the event but let’s get to the big question: who is executing these big plans?! Well, big plans require people with big ambition and even bigger goals, qualities that every member of our team possesses. In fact, TEDx@DanielHandHS is 99% student-run (1% for working with school administration, of course), and therefore the event is largely catered towards inspiring young people in our community of Madison and beyond.
